Retired Ghanaian boxer and entertainer, Bukom Banku, turned heads and drew laughter during a Homowo donation event hosted by prominent businessman Richard Nii Armah Quaye on August 14, 2025.
The donation drive, held in celebration of the Ga community’s annual festival, saw Richard Quaye distributing money and food items to support residents.
A large crowd gathered to witness the gesture, with many filming the lively moments on their phones.
Bukom Banku, in his usual comedic and charismatic style, playfully heckled the businessman in the Ga language, urging him to give him some money.
To drive his point home, he mentioned his wife, Akorkor Martha, who sat nearby, as part of his humorous appeal.
The light-hearted moment paid off as Richard Quaye, known for his philanthropic spirit, handed the former boxer a bundle of GH¢20 notes worth GH¢2,000.
The crowd erupted in cheers and laughter as the two shared the jovial exchange.
Social media has since been buzzing with clips of the encounter, with many hailing it as one of the most memorable highlights of this year’s Homowo celebrations.
