Former Shatta Movement Militant, Addi Self, has publicly extended an emotional apology to Shatta Wale, years after their fallout.
In a heartfelt Facebook post today, Friday, June 13, 2025, the artist pleaded with his former mentor to let go of their grudge and “unblock” him, saying, “I buy you Rolex watch, I de come deliver it with #Shaxi.”
The rift, which dates back to a misunderstanding involving rapper Kweku Smoke and a song theft allegation, saw Shatta Wale express disappointment that Addi Self and the other Militants didn’t defend him. At the time, Addi Self explained that his silence was not out of disloyalty but confusion, since he didn’t know Kweku Smoke personally.
Now, in a tone of growth and humility, Addi Self says he’s ready to return to the movement he once proudly represented. “Me and Captan saaf be cool, why me and my mentor no cool? It sucks!” he wrote, calling himself the prodigal son and asking the Shatta Movement to help reunite him with “#1Don.”
