A viral video circulating on social media has sparked outrage after a young lady, reportedly a student of British Colombia College (BCC) in Accra, accused Dr. Benedict Yartey, the principal of the institution and a longserving judge on TV3’s Talented Kids of alleged sexual misconduct.
In the emotional video, the unidentified student details a series of disturbing encounters with Dr. Yartey, also known as Uncle Benedict.
She alleges that during one incident, he hugged her and then inappropriately touched her, including squeezing her buttocks, despite feeling uncomfortable.
According to the student, she was initially shocked by his actions but claims he continued, warning her not to “share her body with anyone” and implying that she would eventually “get used to it.”
The young lady, who can be seen being emotional in the video, stated that the experience left her traumatised and unwilling to continue her university education.
She also expressed regret that Dr. Yartey’s wife wasn’t present during one of the alleged encounters, claiming that she had been taken advantage of after multiple times.
The video was first shared by popular Instagram blogger Tutugyagu, who reported receiving several anonymous complaints from other students regarding Dr. Yartey’s alleged behavior over the years.
The blogger has since called on the Ghana Police Service to launch a full investigation, urging authorities to act swiftly in protecting other students who may have experienced similar incidents but remain silent.
As of now, Dr. Benedict Yartey has not publicly responded to the allegations, and no official statement has been issued by British Colombia College.
