The armed robbers who shot and killed police officer during a bullion van robbery at Ablekuma Fan Milk, an Accra suburb, have reportedly been arrested by Ghana Police
A social media video shows a crowd of people at the Star Oil Filling Station, where the fatal incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday, June 22, 2023.
In the footage, some people in the excited crowd can be heard hailing police and saying, “the robbers have been caught.”
According to eyewitnesses, the incident happened at 1:30 p.m., a claim based on a Star Oil statement.
Police officer who was shot and killed by the robbers (suspects) has been identified as Amoah despite the family and authorities have not yet disclosed the date of his funeral and memorial services.
In addition, the contents of the two bags carried away by the robbers in the CCTV footage remain unknown, since the police have yet to divulge the specifics following the arrests of the criminals.
Meanwhile, the Ghana Police Service has not officially announced the arrest of the wanted thieves.
