Benjamin Mendy has been charged with two further counts of rape, the Crown Prosecution Service has confirmed on Tuesday.
The Manchester City defender will appear in court on Wednesday 17 November.
Mendy remains in police custody and was previously denied bail having already been charged with four counts of rape and one count of sexual assault.
No official please have been entered but the 27-year-old’s lawyer has said his client denies all charges.
Manchester City confirmed they had suspended Mendy after the initial charges in August. A trial has been provisionally set for January 2022.
