The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) Nigeria ,has effected the arrest of a man after his ex took to social media to accuse him of be@ting her mercilessly and breaking her finger in the process.
In a statement released, the agency said following the receipt of the widely circulated video on social media, it promptly established contact with the lady and ensured that the case was formally reported to the appropriate authorities. The agency stated that preliminary findings confirm that the incident, which occurred on Saturday, March 21, was reported at the FESTAC Police Station Tactical Squad and is currently being handled by the Family Support Unit (FSU), FESTAC Police Station.
The survivor alleged that her estranged partner physically ass@ulted her, resulting in severe injuries, including the loss of a finger.
‘’The alleged perpetrator was apprehended and the matter has been diligently investigated by law enforcement authorities. On 25th March 2026, the case was charged to court at Court 6, MBA Ajegunle. The accused has since been remanded at Kirikiri Maximum Security Custodial Centre pending further proceedings. Bail was granted in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties, and the next court hearing has been scheduled for 29th April 2026.”the agency said
