Yvan Le Mée: “Kylian Mbappé could have signed for Real Madrid this summer.”
Speaking in an interview with Marca, French football agent Yvan Le Mée revealed that Kylian Mbappé could have signed for Real Madrid this summer if the coronavirus pandemic didn’t occur.
Le Mée is the man responsible for taking several French players to the Santiago Bernabéu. Most recently left-back Ferland Mendy joined from Lyon, however Le Mée is also the man behind Julien Faubert’s infamous move from West Ham United to Madrid.
“In a normal context, without the coronavirus pandemic, I could see Mbappé signing for Real Madrid this summer because it doesn’t seem like he is going to renew his contract. But with the pandemic and the incoming economic crisis, it seems impossible that any club could pay the fee involved for Mbappé. If Neymar is worth €222m, Mbappé has to be worth €300m as he is younger and as good a player as Neymar. He will go onto being the best striker in the world and I believe that he will also go on to play for the best team in the world, which is Real Madrid. With there not being much competition in attack for Madrid currently and Zidane being one of his idols, it seems logical. Benzema is a great player but is in the latter stages of his career.”
