Controversial Nigerian artist Portable has faced significant backlash online after a video emerged showcasing his dramatic response following the court’s decision to grant him bail of N2 million.
It is important to note that the singer had previously been declared wanted by the police on charges including conspiracy, serious assault, armed violence, public disturbance, and attempted murder through the enlistment of armed thugs. He subsequently turned himself in to the authorities.
After his arrest, Portable was brought before the court on five counts related to conspiracy, assault, and possession of weapons, including cutlasses and firearms, as well as conduct likely to cause harm.
He entered a plea of not guilty to the charges and was granted bail set at N2 million, with a stipulation prohibiting him from discussing the case or any related matters on social media.
The magistrate court has scheduled the next hearing for March 5 to continue the trial.
In the video, he was observed kneeling as individuals held onto him tightly.
