Swedru-based Ghanaian businessman Abu Trica has has been arrested for his involvement in an 8 million USD romance scam.
The indictment, unsealed recently in a U.S. federal court, also names him by his other known aliases: Emmanuel Kojo Baah Obeng and Abu Trica.
According to the US Federal court, Abu Trica was part of a criminal network that have been using Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology to create fake identities and engage victims in romantic relationships online since 2023.
