Dancehall enigma Charles Nii Armah Mensah, famed as Shatta Wale, has pulled the legs of Nigerian superstars Burna Burna Boy and Davido.
Shatta Wale is the latest person to troll the duo following their loss at the recently held 66th Grammy Awards, which came off on February 5, 2024.
Davido got three nominations for the just-ended 66th Grammy Awards.
He was nominated for Best Global Music Performance with his “Feel” song, Best Global Album with his “Timeless” album, and Best African Music Performance with his “Unavailable” song.
Davido lost two Grammy Award nominations to Indian musicians and the Best African Music Performance award to Tyla of South Africa.
Burna Boy, on the other hand, got four nominations: Best Global Music Performance with his “Alone” song, Best Global Music Album with his “I Told Them” album, Best Rap Song with his “Sittin’ on Top of the World” with 21 Savage song, and Best Music Video but won zero out of the four.
In their reaction, many have said that the Grammy only uses some of these African musicians to promote their shows but does not get them any recognition.
Other music lovers have also opined that the duo was cheated in the awards scheme; however, Shatta Wale claims everything was fair.
In his reaction, Shatta Wale said that any musician who wishes to win awards should also do very well to learn how to cry.
Shatta Wale claims musicians will only have to resort to crying if they fail to win awards.
“If you want to learn how to be an award winner in this music business just learn how to cry cuz you will cry sometimes“, he said.
He, however, admitted that it is very painful if a musician works so hard and in the end gets no recognition for the work they do.
“painful when you work so hard and don’t get recognized for it”, he added.
