Ghanaian music star Sarkodie is not backing down from his legal battle with Ecobank Ghana Ltd, despite rumors making the rounds. His legal team at Robert Smith Law Group has come out strongly to deny claims that the rapper has instructed his lawyers to drop the case.
In an official statement released today (April 26, 2025), Sarkodie’s lawyers called the reports “baseless and malicious,” stressing that they have not been told to withdraw the case, haven’t made any moves to do so, and have not approached Ecobank with any request.
They also explained that under civil law, Sarkodie doesn’t need Ecobank’s permission to end the case if he wanted to — but for now, the case is still very much alive in court. The legal team warned that any attempts to spread false and prejudicial information could lead to serious legal consequences, citing Ghana’s Criminal Offences Act.
Signed by Bobby Banson, Esq., the statement made it clear: Sarkodie’s camp is ready to fight misinformation and protect the integrity of the ongoing court proceedings.
