Ghanaian Media personality Ohemaa Woyeje recently shared her approach to creating harmony in her marriage during an interview with Fiifi Pratt on Kingdom FM. Looking back on the early days of her marriage, Ohemaa revealed that she used to feel the need to check her husband’s phone, driven by worries that many new spouses might relate to. However, over time, her perspective shifted as she learned to trust her partner more fully.
“I used to struggle during disagreements because I was a bit naive, but now, I don’t feel the need to complain,” Ohemaa admitted. “Sometimes it even surprises my husband. When I was younger, I’d check his phone if I felt uncertain. But now, his phone can ring for hours, and I won’t even think twice. If he has missed calls, that’s for him to handle!”
Ohemaa, who married Emmanuel Yaw Owusu Kusi, her Holland-based husband, in April 2017, highlighted how experience and patience are key to a lasting marriage. “Experience teaches you to be more tolerant, but it’s essential to protect your own peace,” she added.
