The Chairman of the incumbent NDC political party, Johnson Asiedu Nketia has said that most of the youth who applied for the security service recruitment do not have genuine intentions.
Speaking in a viral video, the politician confirmed to reporters that 500,000 people applied for the security service recruitment, even though the available slots are fewer.
The politician believes that passion should be the first thing the youth consider when applying to join the security service.
However, the chairman of the National Democratic Congress revealed that most of the youth had intentions far from what should have been normal.
He noted that, most of the youth only applied because they did not want to join the unemployment association in Ghana, adding that, such people, when picked become a square peg in a round hole.
“Most of the youth who applied are simply looking for an opportunity to escape unemployment and poverty,” he stated emphatically.
He added that “As soon as the forms were opened, the numbers shot up because many young people see the security services as one of the few stable job options available”.
