Manchester United equal 27-year record with tonight’s starting XI

Manchester United aim to not only to move into the top four but into third place with a win over Southampton at Old Trafford tonight.

Leicester City and Chelsea’s recent defeats have given Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side a huge chance to boost their Champions League hopes.

The Norwegian has made no changes to his side for the Saints’ visit, sticking with the same XI for the fifth game in succession – making a little history in doing so.

For the visitors, they have followed suit and have also named the same team which drew 1-1 at Everton.

Manchester United: De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Lindelöf, Maguire, Shaw; Pogba, Matić; Greenwood, Fernandes, Rashford; Martial.

Southampton: McCarthy; Walker-Peters, Stephens, Bednarek, Bertrand; Armstrong, Ward-Prowse, Romeu, Redmond; Adams, Ings.

During their previous meeting this season, the sides drew 1-1 at St Mary’s.
