Lionel Messi shines as Barcelona bag four in Granada clash
Barcelona looked back to their best on Saturday evening as they beat Granada 4-0 thanks to two goals each from Antoine Griezmann and Lionel Messi.
Scorers: Griezmann 9′ 65′, Messi 31′ 43′
It was the Bluagrana who got off to the brighter start and opened the scoring on nine minutes as Griezmann finished well.
Ronald Koeman’s looked well in the mood here and soon doubled their advantage on 30 minutes as Messi netted a trademark curler from the edge of the area.
All the talk of Messi leaving Camp Nou this summer has been gaining plenty of column inches, but the Argentine sensation did his talking on the pitch this evening and scored a stunning second just before half-time.
The Ballon d’Or winner curled in another effort from 20 yards, this time a free kick, to score the away side’s third of the game with just minutes of the first half remaining.
After the break and Griezmann was at it again, finding the net with his second of the game midway through the second period.
The cap was put on a dreadful night for the home team late on as Jesus Vallejo was given a red card for a late challenge.
