Ghanaian celebrities were apparently ‘buddy-buddy’ with Nigerian fraudster Ray Hushpuppi due to his glamourous lifestyle before the weight of the law fell on his neck.
Hushpuppi dominated headlines across the globe for allegedly scamming 1.9 million people for $435m including fraudulent paycheques.
On Thursday, June 25, 2020, Dubai Police headquarters released a video of how they used social media tools to track and arrest the self-acclaimed millionaire.
Reports also suggested that Hushpuppi was arrested for allegedly diverting coronavirus funds up to the tune of $35 million.
Hushpuppi, who has over 2 million followers on Instagram, was fascinating enough to numerous Ghanaian celebrities that they also followed him on the social media site.
Ghanaian celebrities were, however, inspired by the alleged fraudster’s affluent lifestyle as he consistently flaunted his enormous wealth on social media.
