A disturbing video circulating on social media that has ignited widespread discussion shows a man standing in a river and performing a traditional spiritual rite on behalf of a Ghanaian man currently living abroad.
According to narration in the video, the ritual was carried out following a bitter dispute between the Ghanaian man and a woman he intended to marry, along with her family.
The intermediary in the video alleged that the woman and her family had conspired to financially exploit the borga before later informing him that they were no longer interested in proceeding with the marriage.
According to the borga, the woman persuaded him to sell off his lands and cars in Ghana under the pretext of preparing for marriage and building a future together.
After spending the proceeds, the family has withdrawn from the arrangement, leaving him emotionally and financially devastated.
Feeling betrayed and disappointed, the borga is said to have turned to traditional spiritual means, calling on the “gods of the land” to seek justice.
In the video, curses were allegedly pronounced against the woman and her family, including invoking madness as punishment for what he described as deceit and exploitation.
The borga reportedly declared that he was no longer interested in marrying the woman and insisted that the ritual was meant to restore his dignity and demand accountability for the losses he claims to have suffered.
The video has generated mixed reactions online, with some social media users sympathizing with the man over the alleged betrayal, while others condemned the use of curses and spiritual threats, urging affected parties to seek legal redress instead.
