Arjen Robben announces shock playing comeback
You thought you’d seen the last of Arjen Robben when he retired last year.
Following another incredible season with Bayern Munich in 2019/20, the Dutchman hung up his boots at the age of 35.
But it turns out the lure of the beautiful game has proven too much for Robben, who recently set pulses racing when he turned up at Sabener Straße to train with Bayern earlier this month.
And it turns out that was with a view to a comeback – which has been confirmed after FC Groningen announced that he has signed for them as a player for the 2020/21 campaign.

It is the club where his career began, having came through the ranks there before making his senior debut as a teenager in 2000.
He stayed for two years before departing for PSV and then going to to enjoy a successful career across the continent.
And that career isn’t done yet. Eredivisie left-backs beware!
